Sugar Mama. Once a mama, now just a sweet girl made of sugar. This incredible girl has beaten the odds that many outdoor community cats do not. A hero in her community reached out to SOS regarding a large number of cats needing medical attention. Sugar Mama, very sick herself, arrived with one surviving kitten from a litter she had earlier this spring. Sugar Mama was diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition known as Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). Without access to life-saving medication that is now available through an emergency drug release application, Sugar Mama would not have survived. Her recovery has come with a few challenges, but Sugar Mama has not let this stop her from blossoming into a quirky and silly, playful girl. Sugar Mama briefly lost her vision during her initial diagnosis of FIP but has since regained full vision. However, she did develop an ulcer after her spay surgery, which was likely due to having a weakened immune system. She is recovering well but will need some additional rechecks before she is ready to be adopted.

Sugar Mama's favourite activities include running marathons each night on the cat wheel. Yes, this little lady LOVES the cat wheel. She taught herself how to use it, and she has a religious fitness program every night.

Her other favourite activity is chasing her tail. The mystery of how it seems to follow her everywhere she goes is yet to be solved. Sugar Mama will entertain you every day while she spends time trying to catch her tail.

She also loves toys that move. A floppy fish toy makes her very happy.

Sugar Mama is likely deaf. It may be related to her previous illness, but this does not stop her from living her best life.
