Stryker was rescued as an adult struggling to survive in a garbage dump, alongside over 20 other abandoned cats living in squalor. With no previous contact with people, he was very apprehensive about humans for several months but with time and patience, he made an overnight decision one night to become one of the most loving cats his foster mom has ever had! He is now the first one to greet her when she comes into the room, weaving around her feet and rolling for belly rubs.
Stryker gets along fantastic with all of the other cats in care and while he may take a few minutes to come out of his cozy sleep spot for new people, he is quick to seek out and welcome affection when he does. He is a perfect example that feral is not forever and underneath the tough exterior of a cat just trying to survive, there is likely an absolute sweetheart just waiting to be found.
Stryker would do best in a quiet adult only home. A stable and low-stress environment will allow him to show his new family just how incredibly loving and sweet he is. It is unknown how Stryker would fair around a dog as he has never been exposed but if the dog is calm and friendly, with the right introduction and patience, he may do fine!
If you are looking for a calm and affectionate cat with a truly inspiring success story of rags to riches, Stryker may be the perfect kitty companion for you.
