When Rocky and his housemates arrived into care, I had mentally prepared myself for a slow burn. A “give him time.” A “he’ll come around eventually.” I was fully ready to lie flat on the floor, wiggle my fingers, and use my best sweet baby voice if required.
Turns out… I wasn’t going to have to try nearly that hard.
Rocky came to SOS after being pulled from a 32-cat home, supported by the incredible team at Angels of Hope Rescue. He came from harsh conditions and had spent far too long living in a single, closed, overcrowded room — waiting for a chance at “real” house-cat life.
The first three days after his move to SOS, Rocky hid under a pillow and quilt. Wide eyes. Very grumpy expression. We let him decompress with some of his friends, gave him space, and let him set the pace.
Then — within 72 hours — he came running to my feet… flopped over… and demanded a rub.
And just like that, with one special voice and a few chin scratches, we were best friends.
Kisses. Biscuits. Cuddles.
Rocky is now fully up to date on his vetting, cleared quarantine, and ready for a family of his own. He has waited long enough.
His coat will continue to lose that greasy look and grow soft and luxurious with time, love, and good nutrition — but his personality? That’s already shining.
Now is your chance to adopt your very own “grumpy” cat who purrs loudly and kneads his biscuits with absolute enthusiasm.
