Who We Are

SOS Prairie Rescue is a volunteer-run Saskatchewan cat rescue and registered charity dedicated to helping abandoned, neglected, injured, and at-risk cats through rescue, foster care, spay/neuter programs, and adoption. We work closely with communities across the province to provide accessible veterinary care and humane population control, ensuring every cat we help receives the chance for a healthier, safer future. With the support of our fosters, volunteers, and donors, we are creating lasting change for cats who would otherwise have nowhere to turn.

Responsible Rescue.
Real Results.

At SOS Prairie Rescue, we don’t just rescue cats — we change the outcomes that put them at risk in the first place.

We work across Saskatchewan to help cats from underserved and remote communities, overwhelmed households, outdoor colony situations and more. Our focus is not only on pulling cats into safety, but on creating lasting solutions through education, humane population control, and community partnership.

Every cat in our program is spayed or neutered — every time, without exception.

Age, location, background, or circumstance never change that commitment. From feral TNR cats and working barn placements to foster kitties and family adoptions, full sterilization is non-negotiable — because responsible rescue means protecting future generations, not contributing to ongoing cycles of suffering.

By combining accessible spay/neuter programs, emergency medical care, foster homes, adoption services, and ongoing community support, SOS Prairie Rescue helps both cats and the people who care for them — creating safer outcomes and stronger communities for all.

This is rescue with accountability.
This is rescue with compassion.
This is rescue that works.
